Gurine was our father's first cousin who was in touch with our familythrough the years. There is a picture of her with Dad in New York withTante Ingeborg - page 22. Ingeborg may have sponsored them in America.
Gurine was married to George Andersen and they lived in Brooklyn, NY formany years. They visited our home in Pelican Rapids and again inBemidji. During the depression, they invited me [Arline] to live withthem in New York, but my parents refused to let me go.
They moved to Oakland, CA sometime in the 1940's. When Dick and I movedto California in 1948, we contacted George and Gurine and visited themfrequently through the years.
Gurine died in 1953 and George went back to Norway. Mother and Dadvisited him and Constance when they were in Norway in 1958.
George gave me several pieces of silver and some lovely silver and glassbowls, he also gave me Gurine's Slye pin that I wear often.
