Joakim learned to be a blacksmith but went to America with hissister Emerentse and her husband Petter in May of 1892
He lived with Daniel in North Dakota for awhile before he moved tohis brother Thomas in Seattle. He had an accident and
could not take care of himself and spent several years in a nursinghome before he died in the 1920's. He never married.
