Victor Otelius

Victor was born in Sharon, North Dakota on June 16, 1905. He attendedschools in Sharon and was confirmed by Rev. Ingel Hovland at HoffLutheran Church in 1920. Victor was very ill as a child and suffered ahearing loss and poor eyesight. He was a talented musician and aninventor like his brothers. In 1920 he built a cart with wheels and apropeller engine and adapted the same propeller engine to a sled forwinter travel. [see pictures] Victor loved to play the accordian andplayed in a country music band for several years. When Uncle Victorvisited us, it was difficult for us to patiently wait for him to bringout the accordian and play for us. Our favorite tune was "Tiger Rag"which he played so well. He loved to entertain his neices and nephewsand we were anxious to have him visit often.
Victor worked in the power plant in Northwood for many years.Grandmother Olson lived with him in Northwood for a time.
Victor moved to Beloit, Wisconsin in the 1940's. He married ClaraStevenson and they had no children.
Victor died of cancer on April 15, 1976. He is buried in East LawnCemetery, Beloit, Wisconsin.
