Mary Janette Semans

"Mary Janette Kenney, daughter of David and Eliza Semans, was bornJanuary 28, 1868 in Kansas. She was one of eight children, there werefour brothers and three sisters. The family moved to Minnesota andsettled in Fairbault and this vicinity." Obituary - Waterville Advance -August 20, 1947
"Mr. and Mrs. Kenney celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July15, 1938 and their 55th anniversary in 1943. A social time was held atopen house where their many friends came to extend their congratulationsand best wishes. They received many lovely gifts and rememberances.
Mrs. Kenney was a Charter Member of the Women's Relief Corp. ofWaterville, having joined July 19, 1887. She was a member of theMethodist Church and the W. S. C. S. for many years. Was a faithfulworker in the church and always led a beautiful Christian life.
She will be remembered for her willing service in caring for the sick.As a wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Kenney will long be remembered asa lovable woman and because of her gracious winsome disposition. she hadhosts of friends." Obituary
