"Simon was a carpenter, a trade he followed until he reached HighlandCounty, Ohio when he became a farmer in an area which became the town ofMarshall. Frances and Simon were members of the Methodist -EpiscopalChurch. They lived in Ken County, Maryland where three children wereborn, until about 1796. By the birth of their 4th child in November1797, the Semans family was living in Washington, Pennsylvania. InOctober 1800 and still in September 1802, they were living in theWheeling area of Ohio County, Virginia [now West Virginia]. They crossedthe Ohio River into Monroe County, Ohio [then a part of WashingtonCounty, Ohio] where they were living December 1804 and December 1806.
