Harold Nordham

Harold was born in Nordcap (North Cape) - northernmost part of Norway.He was a volunteer in the Navy during WW II in northern Norway. When wevisited him in Steinkjer, he gave us stones from Nordcap. He became aschool teacher.
He and Thorborg have lived in Steinkjer for many years.
Most of Steinkjer was destroyed during WW II and has been rebuilt.Steinkjer is the location of many Viking graves (mounds)seen in the EGGEMuseum. EGGE was a large farm. Many stone axes and artifacts have beenfound here. The King of Norway had a farm in Steinkjer at one time.
Harold is a "Senior Olympian" and has many medals. He is a hiker andoutsdoor man. Since Thorborg's stroke, he has cared for her and has beenteaching her to relearn writing, math, etc. Their home was verycomfortable and well kept. We enjoyed an overnight visit with them inJune 1996.
9/1/2000 Update: Harold suffered a heart attack on October 11, 1999 anddied 5 days later of pneumonia - October 16, 1999.
Thorborg has sold their home and has moved to an apartment in Steinkjer.To date I have not received her new address - requested it several monthsago.
