Judy Rae Medlin

Judy's parents were John Medlin and Bobbie Lee Helms of Goldsboro, NC.The Helms family history has been added to this Family Tree. Judy andMichael were married after their move to Penn Valley. Judy was anaccomplished seamstress, she loved gardening and believed in naturalfoods and "back to nature" and loved the rural life on Lazy Valley Road.She was a Pharmacy Technician at Sierra Memorial Hospital. Judy was aloving mother and encouraged Melissa to become self-sufficient andindependent. She provided many experiences for Melissa in music, school,dance, gymnastics, caring for animals, gardening, and sewing; and taughther well. She was a firm taskmaster and expected the very best effort.Judy was very brave in her fight against the cancer that eventually tookher life.
Judy died at home on July 25, 1988. Melissa, Michael, Judy's parents andher sister Bobbie were with her. A memorial service was held at PeaceLutheran Church on July 28, 1988. Pastor Richard Johnson officiated.
