Nancy Jane Cline Colwell was the last of eight children, all who havepreceded her in death. Her family removed to Indiana when she was aboutthree years old. She was baptized in the Methodist faith when a younggirl. She was united in marriage to George W. Colwell in Indiana, March15, 1845. They removed to Boone county about the year 1855, where sheresided until the time of her death. Nine children were born.
Although she was aflicted with total blindness for over 35 years, shewas always happy, having a cheerful mood and smile for every one shenumbered her friends by those who knew her.
She suffered a slight stroke of paralysis in 1918 and since had beenconfined to her bed. She died Monday, February 13, 1922, making her age92 years, 2 months and 24 days at the time of her passing. Obituary1922 in Colwell file.
